Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are

Or at least Tom says so…

Obama

November 4th, 2008 by Nina

There are people in the United States of America praying because Obama won.  There are people worried about the future of the country because Obama won.  There are people upset and sad over because Obama won.

I would just like to say that now you know how we felt for the last 8 years.

Sling Media

October 30th, 2008 by Nina

I have a slingbox.  It rocks but it bothers Tom’s VPN/VoIP.  I emailed Sling Media to ask about their packets per second limit and I was *shocked* to hear back in less than 4 hours.  So here is the answer:

The slingbox standard definition streaming has 1482 packets per second on a connection speed above 256kbps.

Very cool.

Sick Kitty

October 30th, 2008 by Nina

Damn cat…. sick again.  It seems she has a bladder infection this time around.  I also have kitty prozac (or something similar) so hopefully she will stop making herself sick.  You see, we have an EMO cat.  She started self harming by cutting herself.  She had scars on her neck and most of her fur is gone (and she didn’t have much to lose!).

Tom was against anti-depressants for kitty but I think it’ll help.  It was only 11 dollars for a couple pills.  Tom might approve more now that the vet said it might make her loopy.  She has a lovely habit where she pees when you take her out of the condo.  She thinks this will help with that problem.  Although, I did get her kitty diapers and I would sure love to diaper her up!

Tomorrow Tom and I are going to take our over age asses over to Freak Night and enjoy a little of that new fangled electronic music.

drama.

October 20th, 2008 by Nina

This week has been filled with drama.  Lets start with last weekend when I decided to replace kitty’s favorite napping spot with a new surround sound system.  The other one was about 8 years old and had an inch of cat hair in it.  Anyway, I made sure the new one was as comfortable as the old one.  I had hoped the cat wouldn’t notice too much but sadly, not the case.  She mooed around the house for the entire week.  I gave up and purchased her a *heated* cat bed.  I hardly see her now.  She hasn’t left it all night!  It doesn’t even feel that warm but she loves it.

Then came Friday when Tom was going to Canada for a wedding and to visit the kids…. I got a call from Tom saying he had been denied entry into Canada.  I freaked out…. called around and found out there was basically nothing I could do.  At this point, Tom is not allowed back into Canada to see his kids.  We had planned to go to Canada for Christmas but we might be going to Vermont and drive the kids over the border.  How is Christmas in Vermont?

Anyway, I heard that Pascal told his mama that he loved me last weekend.  Very sweet.  I was thrilled to get a phone call today from Pascal, Tommy and their mother today.  It was certainly a nice break in the normal afternoon work day.

Guns!

October 4th, 2008 by Nina

Since Tom has never shot a gun, we decided today was a good day to give it a try. We went to Wade’s in Bellevue. I got a good video of him shooting.

Anyway, we started with my favorite which is the glock 17. It took me a couple to remember how but I did ok. Tom took a picture of me:

I sort of enjoyed it in a republican kind of way. I use to shoot plates every week with an ex-boyfriend. Maybe I can convince Tom to go with me sometime.

Anyway, tomorrow I start volunteering at PICC. Yay!

Jury Duty!

October 2nd, 2008 by Nina

I got a letter in the mail today saying I have been called for jury duty at the Superior King County Court!  So exciting.  I totally want to be a on jury and the Superior Court will have the good shit like murder and stuff!  I am suppose to go on Nov. 26th.  Hopefully that works out.  I dig jury duty.
